The race is on: London medical firm begins 3 hour PCR tests
Those who thought the requirement for Covid-19 tests prior to flying signalled the end of the last minute getaway – or business trip – might be wrong.
One Harley Street firm has launched 3-hour PCR testing for those City high-flyers who simply have to be in Geneva for lunchtime.
Testing firms are competing to turnaround the laboratory tests in as little time as possible now that a negative test is required for international travel.

At the start of the pandemic the average wait-time was more than 24 hours but as understanding of the virus and testing has improved, private companies are speeding up the process.
Simon Checkley, Managing Director of the Regenerative Clinic – which has begun offering the three hour tests in both Harley Street and Canary Wharf – reckons their speedy turnaround will give travel a much-needed kickstart.
“It means a business traveller can take an express PCR test in Canary Wharf in the morning, go home to pack, travel to the airport, and be ready to fly at lunchtime,” he told City A.M.
The travel industry is hoping that the Government’s decision to ditch quarantine requirements for travellers from amber countries in mid-August for those who have been double jabbed will give Brits more confidence to restart business and leisure travel.
